C & Anurak's friendship

I have really enjoyed getting to know Ajitha and her son, Anurak. I immediately felt a connection with Ajitha simply because we are both women and more specifically, mothers. I love that it was this simple commonality between us that bonded us. For our first 2 months in Oman, Ajitha, Anurak and Babu (her husband) having been living with us. They have a room behind our house and share our kitchen and living room. Anurak is a beautiful happy 6 years old. Unfortunately, Ajitha & Anurak are returning to India. We would love for them to stay, but Ajitha has to get back to her two older children who are in India. Cole and Anurak may not speak the same language (although Anurak & Ajitha do speak some English), but they have become great friends. Cole is very sad to have to say good bye to Anurak.

Our Home in Qantab

We are living in Qantab, which is a small fishing village. It has around 800 people, 2 mosques, 1 school, 1 very small store and tons of goats.  We love our home and the location. It is beautiful, on the beach, and a 5 min walk to E's work. This is the view from our living room.

This shot is a bit dark, but it gives you an idea of our living room.

C is still loving the beach.

Since our beach is not a private beach in front of a hotel, I need to be all covered up. At times it feels a bit funny to be swimming in pants, but I love it b/c it is part of the beauty of our life here.

Mike (E's dad) was recently here for a visit. It was an especially great trip.  We hadn't seen him since last summer when we traveled to Banyuls, France where he was living at the time. As you can see, the 3 of us went for a swim one morning at our beach in front of our house.  Since we are living closer to Mike, we hope he will be able to visit us more often.

This photo was taken from one of our lanais. E's work site is on the other side of the bay.

Almost time for the Little One to arrive.

It is almost time for our Little One to arrive. Since I have gestational diabetes, I'll be induced on Sept. 23rd (unless of course he comes earlier). C continues to ask when his little baby brother is coming. He is looking forward to it.
